About
My name is Christina Kay, I take a lot of pride in designing handmade goods for children around the world.
I produce everything in this store. I design the prototypes, I test them, and re design until I know its baby ready. I photograph, and edit all of my own products. I also list them, manufacture them, retail, distribute, ship, and love every item in my store; even after its gone.
One of my first concerns after her birth was dealing with the terrible rashes on her face brought on by the constant drooling. I mean the problem became so bad that the doctors couldn’t help us, they said to keep applying ointment and keep moisture away from her face. Hazel just continued to drool, and drool, and drool. Sometimes it became so bad that we could smell the flesh off of her face; it was really that raw.
I had to find a way to get the moisture away from her face. We were probably changing her bibs 6-9 times a day using the generic stores bibs. One early April morning if '08 I saw a sewing machine at a local department store and decided that I would give it a try. I was surprised at my success at making a bib that treated my daughters rashes; and that machine completely shaped the next few years of my life.
It was sort of a hit or miss thing with me. I learned quickly what people liked, and what people didn't like. It wasn't a full time job then, just something to bring in some extra money.
I’m not really sure how it happened, I am shocked at how well things have finally come together in the end. I love my job, I love my life, and I love my daughter. I look forward to making practical designs and products for children that are handmade for the rest of my life.
